Day 1: Saigon arrival

On arrival at Tan San Nhat Airport, pick up and transfer to the hotel. Ho Chi Minh City, a bustling metropolis, contrary to its northern counterpart, is crowded with bikes and motorbikes, excited by numerous shopping areas and sidewalk cafés. If we have enough time, we stroll around Saigon downtown. Overnight at the hotel in Ho Chi Minh city

Day 1: Saigon arrival

Day 2: Saigon –Cu Chi Tunnels- Saigon Vespa tour (B)

Morning after having breakfast, depart for the famous Cu Chi Tunnels which were an incredible underground network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the long struggle for independence. The tunnels contained hospitals, plus accommodation and schools, and were used as a military base for the Vietcong in the American war. 

In the afternoon, experience the excitement of modern-day Ho Chi Minh City riding pillion on our vintage Vespas. Get off the crowded tourist trail to visit some fascinating places and sites than you could never find on your own.

Description: Starting the ride in the busy city streets to a Cafe in central Saigon where we enjoy the morning coffee with the bird lovers before visiting the famous and thought invoking Burning Monk Memorial Statue. Our adventurous mix of historic landmarks and hidden treasures continues as we soak up the local culture at a fresh flower market and then a bright and vibrant fabric market. We zoom through Saigon traffic on the back of our comfortable Vespas to the captivating Chinese district, visiting a traditional medicine street with traditional medical herb shops, an ancient Buddhist temple and a hidden Chinese pagoda. Our final ride takes us into the heart of Saigon to see some classic city landmarks. Firstly, see the French architectural influences of the famous Saigon Post Office and beautiful Notre Dame Cathedral (outside only), before we end with a short history lesson outside the striking Independence Palace. Let our local guides show you their city, their Saigon.

Tourist will be on board at the tourist boat station in Cai Be and welcomed with cold towels, fresh coconut. Boating and enjoying the fresh air on the Mekong River, the tourists visit the Cai Be floating market, the original style of commerce on the Mekong River. Visiting the local pop rice, coconut candy workshop and knowing the ways bee-breeding tasting honey tea by breezy river.

Boating to visit the local fruit gardens and a way of horticulture and listening to the traditional music, is the best chance for relaxation. Taking about 20 minutes for rowing sampan with discovery feelings. Crossing the Mekong River to An Binh island to see the daily life along the river. Visiting the brick & pottery factory where the tourist knows how to make the brick and the pottery from the local clay and styles with the traditional technique. End the tour in Vinh Long, transfer back to Saigon for your flight to Hue. Upon arrival pick up and transfer you to your hotel for your overnight.

We then set out for the exploration of Hue's famous highlights, including the picturesque Thien Mu, or Heavenly Lady Pagoda. One of the most poignant displays here is a car belonging to a former monk, who in 1963, drove to Saigon and set himself alight to protest against the South Vietnamese regime and its treatment of Buddhists. Disembark the board for a visit the elaborate mausoleum of former emperor Tu Duc. Transfer back to Hue center Hue for lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon, visit the Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City. Built in the 19th century by the Nguyen dynasty, the city was home to the former Emperors of Vietnam from 1802 until 1945, do the walking and shopping in Dong Ba Market to enjoy the specialty of Hue city. After having breakfast, we continue south by road to Hoi An. The scenery en route is very beautiful. We make a stop at Lang Co beach for coffee and refreshments before winding our way up the spectacular Hai Van Pass to admire the stunning views north to Lang Co beach and south to Danang City. Continue on our way down to the other side and head to Da Nang where we will stop at the Cham Museum, the famed China Beach, and the Marble Mountains. Arrival in Hoi An, we will have our first glimpse of this beautiful boutique town recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site The tranquil and charm of Hoi An with its low tiled houses of Chinese appearance, Japanese covered bridge, brightly painted temples and pagodas make it one of Vietnam’s most delightful places. Overnight at hotel in Hoian.

Day 5: Hue – Hoian – Half Day city tour (B)

Day 6: Hoian -Tra Que Vegetable village –Boat trip in Thu Bon (B)

Morning, you will cycle to Tra Que Vegetable Village. Your cycling trip takes you on narrow roads to visit a place of display farming and fishing tools of the local farmers and fishermen. In this place, you will participate in daily activities of the local residents in the old time such as bailing out water with long handles buckets, pounding rice, lifting fishing nets, etc. Especially, you will savor boiled sweet potatoes dipping them into ground salty roasted peanut, drink lotus tea gathered from Tra Que lotus lagoon and listen to folk songs about Quang Nam native country, Hoi An Old Town as well as Tra Que Vegetable Village.   After that you will keep going the tour to a house of a local resident to hear about history of the village foundation and the development of this village. Then local farmers will take you to see vegetable gardens and instruct you the techniques of planting and cultivating many kinds of vegetables planted in the gardens. You have a chance to join hand in cutting, tying in bundles, and reaping the vegetables to bring home for processing food. Back to Tra Que’s family house, you will enjoy yourself with "foot massage" before working together with our family chef to learn the traditional ways of preparing and cooking Vietnamese food. Then, sit down and savor the dishes you have just prepared. In the afternoon, say goodbye to your host family and ride back to Hoian, on the way, visit Nhat tomb and Ba Le well

Afternoon take 3 hour boat trip to Thanh Ha Pottery village, where we can see old men who produce jars, bowls, vases. End of day trip at 16:00 PM. Overnight in Hoian

Day 7: Hoian – My Son Sanctuary -Flight to Hanoi (B)

Morning pick from your hotel at 08 am, departure for My Son Holy land. An opportunity to learn the history of a culture which has virtually disappeared from Viet Nam – the Champa People once ruled, and My Son still stands as a reminder of how far north their influence flourished. Back to Hoi An for lunch on your own. In the afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival pick up and transfer you to your hotel for your overnight.

Day 7: Hoian – My Son Sanctuary -Flight to Hanoi (B)

Today, we enjoy a full day city tour starting with the Ho Chi Minh Complex. This famous site contains the mausoleum of the nation’s founder Ho Chi Minh (Close on Monday, Friday & November), the Presidential Palaceand the Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts. Close to this complex is the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origins date back to the foundation of the city. We follow this with the Temple of Literature, which is well known as the first university of Vietnam. Have lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the impressive Ethnology Museum, dedicated to Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups, several of which we will see on our forthcoming trekking. The evening takes us to the old theater for a 1-hour water puppet show, a unique Vietnam traditional art. Overnight at the hotel in Hanoi

Day 8: Hanoi city tour- Water Puppet show (B)

Day 9: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay cruise (B, L, D)

Breakfast at the hotel and then start a 3-hour drive through the Red River Delta to Ha Long City. Comfort stop en route for photos and coffee before arriving to Ha Long City. We then transfer to a refurbished wooden sailing junk for a cruise through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Ha Long Bay to enjoy a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone this World Heritage Site. While being on board, we will be served a sumptuous fresh, local seafood lunch followed by swimming and exploring some of the limestone caves in this area. Try the feeling of witnessing the sunset on a boat is really great. Dinner on board. The captain then will anchor for the night nearby a remote island.  In the evening, there is the option for night fishing or just sit out on the deck and relax under the stars. Overnight on Junk.

Waking up surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the bay, we have time for an early morning dip with joys and emotions for watching sunrise on sea followed by breakfast. The cruise continues to move around the bay for us to discover more secluded areas, we then take kayaking and swimming in the stunning bay. The junk will be near us at all times serving as a backup vessel for those that require it. At around midday we will return to the main harbor before transferring to our awaiting vehicle for a 3-hour journey to Hanoi for your overnight.

You have free time today until we transfer you to the airport for your flight to Bangkok. Upon arrival pick up and transfer you to your hotel in Bangkok for overnight.

Day 12: Bangkok City tour – Boat trip in Chao Phraya- Tuk Tuk Street food tour (B, D)

Today, we will take the whole day to explore Bangkok – the city of golden temples.

The first destination is the Grand Palace. This huge architecture complex is over 2 sq. kilometers, including 3 main sites: Royal Palace, Royal Office and pagodas (Wat) built in the 1770s. Nowadays, the Grand Palace is no longer home of Thailand Royal, most of the national significant events take place there. Wat Phra Kaew is the most out-standing architecture in the complex, built in 1785 when King Rama I moved the capital to Bangkok. The pagoda is famous not only for its beauty of unique Thailand Buddhism architecture but also for the sacred jade Buddha statue. 

Nearby the Grand Palace is Wat Pho - the oldest and biggest pagoda in Bangkok with more than 1000 Buddha statues and the huge one sit-back Buddha in gold. This pagoda is also famous for being a birthplace of traditional Thai massage, since there is a traditional medicine school established in 1982, educating the arts of Thai massage. 

We will board a boat to pay a visit along the Chao Phraya River, watching the life of local people close by. On route, we stop at Wat Arun, known as the most beautiful pagoda in Bangkok not only for its location on the Chao Phraya’s river bank but also for the different architecture from other pagodas. The pagoda was decorated with glass pieces and Chinese ceramic, in a complicated style. 

After having lunch, we visit the last destination of the day: Wat Traimit. This pagoda is famous for its unique and historic beauty, and also for the huge golden Buddha statue. Thai people believe that the statue represents prosperity and purity, as well as strength and power. 

Return to the hotel and you are free to explore Bangkok by night.

At 18:00PM we start a night food tour. Bangkok is considered as the heaven of street food that makes you want to be immersed into its variety. The street food tour by tuktuk offers you a fun but safe experience to taste. Lead by an English speaking guide, we come to the best local vendors to try pork satay, ginger soup and sesame dumplings. Of course the guide will explain and introduce you to them. En route, we observe the view of the city by night and also have an opportunity to visit some attractions such as Phra Sumen Fort, Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, and Chinatown – our finish point then you transfer back to the hotel.

Day 12: Bangkok City tour – Boat trip in Chao Phraya- Tuk Tuk Street food tour (B, D)

Day 13: Bangkok – Damnoen Saduak Floating Market – Kanchanaburi (B)

Early in the morning, we drive southwest of Bangkok, visit the Maeklong railway market, take photos, enjoy the local snack in the market before driving to Damnoen Saduak, a rural floating market. Stop for a long-tailed boat trip along the waterway to the picturesque floating market of Damnoen Saduak. 

Then we continue the road to the city of Kanchanaburi. Upon arrival, visit the World War II memorial including the Jeath War Museum, Cemetery. Lunch is served in a floating restaurant next to the Kwai River Bridge (by your own account). We continue to Wang Pho to take photos with wild monkeys. And get on a train ride along the railway to enjoy a beautiful river view for around 30 minutes. Overnight in Kanchanaburi

Day 13: Bangkok – Damnoen Saduak Floating Market – Kanchanaburi (B)

Day 14: Kanchanaburi – Erawan Waterfalls – Ayutthaya (B)

Morning breakfast and depart for Erawan Waterfall - a beautiful seven-tiered waterfall. Located in Erawan National Park, Walking up to see each of the picturesque falls, it is best to bring good walking shoes. Also, guests should remember to bring their swimming suit if they wish to swim in the fall’s natural pools. 

In the afternoon after lunch time, we continue the road to Ayutthaya. The ancient city of Ayutthaya is known as the 'Venice of the East’ because it is found along the Chao Phraya, the tributaries that surround the province of Ayutthaya River. Many monuments and remains of the period can be visited in this city founded in 1350 by King Uthong when the Thai had to migrate to the South under pressure from their neighbors to the North

Day 14: Kanchanaburi – Erawan Waterfalls – Ayutthaya (B)

Morning after breakfast we will catch Kermit tuk tuk. These ‘cute’ tuk tuks are found in only two of Thailand’s provinces : Ayutthaya, and Trang. Along the ride, explore the temple highlights of the city from Wat Yai Chaimongkol, Wat Mahathat (with a Buddha face emerging from a tree), and strolling through a local market en route to Wat Phra Srisanphet. And after that we will visit the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, built during the Ayutthaya era. The palace showcases an eclectic collection of buildings that blend European, Khmer, Thai and Chinese architectural styles. It’s the favorite summer palace of the King. 

And transfer back to Bangkok overnight.
